Ulver started out as an outstanding black metal band, today, Garm is rich and owns Jester Records where he release Electronica albums under the same band name.
These albums is a must get for black metal fans. Kveldssanger is a calmer acoustic release.

Ásmegin

Ásmegin was founded in 1998 and recorded two demos, one was never released (Af Helvegum).
All I can say about them is that they're fucking great, I haven't heard any bands as good as them within this genre or any for that sake, up to 4 (5?) vocalists and singers going at the same time makes it's completely own feel of true folk. If You're looking for a own-of-a-kind band than Ásmegin is a must.

Vidsyn

I would say that Vidsyn is heavily influenced or atleast sounds like Taake, not as good as Taake but still great.

Azaghal

They started out as "Belfegor" and released a demo called "The Ancient Gods of Evil" under that name, and then split up.
They reformed in 1997 as Nargoventor, but later changed their name to Azaghal, which is the name of a dwarf king in Tolkien's myth.
Mustamaa is a great album, melodic and epic.

Silencer

You only need to look once to realize Nattramn is not sane.
Silencer really stands out, Nattramn's tortured vocals, the dark and grimm instrumental interludes, everything is just insane.
"Death - Pierce Me", is the first and last album of them, the band broke up because the vocalist, Nattramn got institutionized. This album is  really something else, if you're a fan of insane dark black metal then You should not be left without this album, it is near perfection.

Windir

Windir started out as a one man band and went so untill 1184, which is when he recruited the band members of Ulcus. Along with the new members the music style also changed, as I don't doubt that the new members also wrote a little music for Windir.
The last album Windir recorded was Likferd, in my opinion, a little weak compared to the previous albums, but still great.
Valfar himself choosed to name the genre "Sognametal" because of that Black Metal had gotten so much bad attention, and I think that it really does deserve it's own genre, Windir stands out really special.

In 2004, Valfar died of hypothermia, the band recorded a live album called 
"Sognametal" and released a best of album named "Valfar, Ein Windir".

Burzum

Without a doubt one of the greatest black metal projects ever, as Burzum is simple yet still melodic in it's own way. it really stands out.
